Dr. Stephanie Bollow
Dr. Bollow is a board-certified pediatric dentist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She says that she loves having the opportunity to form longstanding relationships with our young patients and their families, which allows her to see them grow and thrive as the years go by. For her, there is no better feeling than helping an initially fearful child relax and smile after an appointment. Her goal with every patient is to enable them to form a positive relationship with oral care, which will promote a lifetime of positive habits. She’s eager to welcome you and your child into our practice, but first, you can learn a little more about her below.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Some would say that Dr. Bollow was predestined to become a pediatric dentist. Both her grandfather and great-grandfather were dentists, and even before she decided to pursue dentistry, she knew she wanted to work with children. Her first jobs were babysitting and being a camp counselor, and eventually, she even spent some time as a dental assistant here at Brush! Dr. Albert showed her that she could combine both of her interests into a great career, and the rest is history.
Dr. Bollow graduated summa cum laude from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor’s in psychology and molecular/cellular biology, and she went on to obtain her dental degree from the University of Illinois Chicago. She ended up staying there for a two-year academic and hospital-based residency in pediatric dentistry. While completing it, she also earned an M.S. in Oral Sciences. Currently, Dr. Bollow maintains privileges at the Department of Surgery Division of Dentistry of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. To stay on top of the latest findings in dentistry, she is currently an active member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
At home, Dr. Bollow loves to cook with her husband, Cody, and you’ll often find her at the park playing endless games of fetch with her Goldendoodle, Kona. She also enjoys relaxing by the lake and watches football every Sunday as an eternally optimistic Chicago Bears fan.
